Any sugg? They have to have a thick cord, not flimsy like mdr-ex71's, good bass response, and good design....closest to standard ipod headphones.....

MS-1's are Alessandro music series 1's headphone and can be found at http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html.
I currently have the grado sr60's, which are incredible. The detail and bass impact is superb. No other headphone comes close to sound in their $70usd price range. Grado made headphones for Alessandro, which is the reason why the ms1's look like Grado headphones. They can be found at $99usd shipped. I've heard only good reviews and comments and also recommend it as an alternative to the grado sr60's living outside of the US. Either way, you can't go wrong with either.
Grado's can be found at gradolabs.com.

Then the Shure E2c's are definetly for you. You can get them either at EarphoneSolutions.com (http://www.earphonesolutions.com/) or at HeadRoom (http://www.headphone.com/). Those two stores do price matching so if one of them has a lower price just send an e-mail to the other requesting a lower price. They both have quick response times and are very friendly and helpful.

The Panasonic RP-HJE70 are the best choices if you are not going to spend more than $100. These Panasonic really gives me very very very very good impression! Definetly for you!

Hmmm, I'll give it another try then. I recommend getting a pair of etymotic er6i's. They can be found for $90 at buy.com.
