I have a pile of tracks extracted at full 1411K, that are also distributed into many playlists (not just the albums they came from). Now, I want to save some space and convert them to Lossless. I can sort by bit rate, convert, etc. but the converted tracks are created as new, separate tracks, and they don't automatically replace their 1411K predecessors... I have tweaked a few scripts, but this one is a bit beyond me.
Anyone know of an existing script out there that would help this process? The flow is: find all the 1411K tracks, find and save the playlists they are in, then convert them, then replace the originals in all the playlists with the lossless, and delete the originals...
Doing this in separate steps or in stages would be fine, as I should only have to do it once...
I was thinking that the grouping or category fields might be useful to temp store playlist info - trouble is, some of these tracks are in more than one playlist.
