I just bought a iPod Color and need help on my first step w/ iTunes..

I have a shuffle so I have iTunes and about 7GB of music right now in there and I have more waiting to be added from CDs...

Can I just keep iTunes as is or do I need to backup the library (if so how) and uninstall iTunes or can I just keep everything as it is and just connect my new iPod Color into the usb?


PS, do I need to charge the battery first or does it come charged?

Charge your Battery overnight to start.

You don't need to uninstall iTunes and you also shouldn't have to reinstall iTunes but I would probably still insert the Cd that came with your iPod first anyway. Get it all registered and updated to the newest firmware versions, etc.. and you'll be ready to go.

I had a problem with iTunes a few weeks ago which forced me to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall. My library came back up perfectly like nothing had happened. Even, my previous iTunes settings were remembered. So, if that's any indication, I think you're fine.

thanks, one thing. Does it matter if I have the "hold" on while I am charging the battery?

noope. it wont matter :)

Hold simply makes it so you can't start music or move menus. I would suggest it while charging, but it's not needed.
