Hello friends,

I'm going on holiday on Friday so I only have today and tomorrow to fix this problem. A holiday without an updated ipod would so suck.

My iPod cannot be updated, whatever I do. For automatic updating, everything seems to go fine, iTunes synchhronises my iPod by adding 166 new songs in my library. Then I say "Eject iPod" and check from my iPod; none of the songs have actually been added! Similarly when I do manual updating, I manually move songs fro my library to iPod's, everything seems fine, I can see the songs on iPod library and/or playlists. Then when I eject it, it's still the same, it's not updated. Only thing I can do atm is copying my new songs to root and listen to them on other computers, but not on iPod ;/ So there's nothing wrong with usage of iPod for data storage.

One thing i doubt is, iTunes gives an error on system tray when I connect my iPod and load iTunes such as:

iTunes.exe - Corrupt File The file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes\Temp File is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

Please, please, I desperately need help.
Thanks

There are some link problems with iPod updater software. The link to the old iPod updater version in the sticky points to a server where the file no longer exists. The March version listed in the iLounge download section points to Apple, which brings up the latest (June) version.

I'm pretty sure I have the 3.01 version. d3s, if you want it then send me a PM and we'll work out a way to get it to you.

Longer-term, someone probably needs to get this into some P2P network. It really stinks that Apple keeps putting out broken versions and not making the older/working one available. 3.01 is also the version that works with Realplayer, I think.
