crashing while adding folders

this discussion is sort of happening in the general forum, but it could get lost in that huge thread - so i'm starting a new one over here.

i'm really f'in ####ed. everytime i try to add my music folder, itunes crashes. so i did it manually and after a while it still crashed.

i'm running xp with 512 memory. i've even exited all the other programs to make sure my resources weren't being used by anything else.

i have no clue what to do. this is so frustrating. i know others are having problems as well. anyone find anything that worked?

this is one of the bugs. do NOT add a folder with many songs. add them in small group by dragging and dropping from explorer to itunes window.

yeah. i?m having the same problem. apart from itunes also not reading all the id3 tags correctly. maybe some of mine are v1 as well as v2. got to sort that out tomorrow with a tagging proggie.

dragging and dropping is so much easier than manually selecting folders to download. thanks!

i think i found the problem. i have the folder/album pj harvey - stories from the city, stories from the sea, and i think the filename is too long. i think i read that that can be a problem.
