Hi all here is my first post.
This question may be a curley one , or maybe just a very newbie one, but here it is.
I've had a digital music collection on external firewire drive in uncompressed CD quality 44.1. I have iTunes playlists that reference these files. I then converted this collection which was the iTunes library to mp3 for my new iPod.I made the folder with these new files the library and disconected the firewire.Transfered the mp3s to my iPod.
I would love to transfer my old playlists but is there a way of telling iTunes all the missing files(its looking for the old 44.1 files) are in this new folder.I can individually locate each missing song file to the new mp3 version but this would take forever.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Should I have put this in the Windows Problems and Solutions forum?
Can anyone out there tell me if there is a work around for this or should I just forget it and start building new playlists?
Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks.

iTunes won't see the relation ship between the two types of file, they're just two different files to it. I think you'll need to create your playlists again with the MP3 versions.

I guess I was hoping I could do a select-all and say use these files (like with edit info when you rename say the genre of all selected songs) as the names are the same only the suffix has changed to .mp3.
Maybe I will have to start the playlists from scratch again.....
