Ipod's keep dying

I got a HP40gig ipod last christmas. I had it for about 3 months defore it crashed. Harddrive malfunction, so they sent me a new one. It lasted me until about early June, then I had the same problem, harddrive spinning, clicking, and when I went to reset the Ipod like customer service told me to, all my music was lost. I called and they said that this is happening because I wasnt using USB 2.0... Since then i bought a brand new computer and have gotten my 3rd ipod, and tonight the hard drive sounded like it was spinning much faster then usual and it was really loud. I went to reset it and all my music was gone.

Has anyone else had any problem with HP40gig ipods? Does anyone know what the problem could be? When I open the Ipod in My Computer, it says that 12 gigs of space is taken up, but i cant find the music anywhere. I usually use yamipod to manage my ipod but when it loads, it get's an error every time at 24%. '


Anyone have any suggestions?
