Recently, I updated iTunes to 4.9 while my iPod was still connected to the computer. After iTunes came back up, the entire library was gone. Naturally, iPod started to sync with iTunes, and when I shut off iTunes to prevent this, I believe I may have caused damage to my iPod.
It displays the apple logo and exclamation folder. At some times, it'll play, but it often skips songs. The hard drive is also making clicking noises. Any attempt to hook it up to the computer again ends in failure, as any program even remotely related to the iPod freezes as soon as its connected.
What should I do?
