I just shuffled all songs on my iPod mini and it is skipping 10-12 songs a time before playing. The skipped songs also cannot be played on the iPod anymore - anyone know whats up? The songs that cannot be played on the iPod play off my computer when using iTunes and there is no "!" alert or anything.

For example: I shuffle all songs it will play song #1, then I can see the names and artists of the next few songs but it zips by them and plays song #10. If I go back and manually try to play the skipped songs they will not play.

That means that iTunes can't find the songs on your computer or you have deleted them off of your computer. Put the songs back into the iTunes library if you have moved them to a different location from where they were before or put them back.

If you have deleted them then replace the songs and put them back on the computer. If you want to delete songs from your computer HD then put the iPod manually manage songs first. The song files were not transferred to the iPod only the tag info was transferred that is why they won't play.

Thanks for your reply HoneyBee. However, this is an "all of a sudden" kind of thing - meaning I did not delete songs or do ANYTHING to my music library. I can still play songs off of my computer using iTunes so they are all still there in my iTunes Library folder on my hard-drive....Is there a way to delete all songs off my iPod so if I autosynch it will copy over all the songs again? I am guessing for some reason some songs are not being synched to the iPod? I have songs from the same CD/Album that will play on the iPod and some that will not - its very strange. I am literally talking about 100s of songs and I can't write down the names of the ones that are being skipped because they fly by so fast.

If you see the ! next to the songs that means iTunes can't locate the song files. If the songs are playing now instead of you seeing the ! next to those songs then 'resync' the iPod.

You can use the updater and restore the iPod and then resync it but make sure that the songs play in iTunes and you don't have the ! next to the songs. That means iTunes can't locate the songs and only tags are being transferred to the iPod. That's why the songs aren't playing on the iPod.

If you still have ! next to any song find it first or reimport it if you can't.

HoneyBee. I apologize for the confusion, I DO NOT have the "!" next to any songs - everything looks normal, everything looks exactly like it did when everything was working.

You said "You can use the updater and restore the iPod" - what is the "updater"?
