I've had my iPod for a few months now and it's been going great - love it. Every day I plug it in to my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A70 running XP Pro) and it updates with my latest podcasts etc. Then I take it to work, listen to my heart's content. When I get home I repeat this process.

Last week when I plugged in the iPod came up in iTunes as just F:/ instead of the usual "PollyPod"

Since then, iTunes will say it's updating and Polly will look as though she's been updated if I click on her in iTunes, but when I disconnect there's been no change :(

I've tried updating the firmware, wiping her totally clean and no help. I've tried other USB ports, removing everything I own, stopping other services. No luck. She does, however, happily connect with other PCs

This is so very frustrating! I don;t understand what went wrong and why she won't talk any more :(

Anyone got any other ideas I can try?

Go to my computer & right click>select manage>storage>disk management. The iPod must be connected when you do this. Then highlight the iPod>right click>select 'rename drive' and change it from 'F' to 'I'. Using 'F' drive for the iPod can cause problems
