My Computer Does Not Recognize My iPod...

hey, so ive read this has happened to a lot of people but every forum i go into, no one has solved their problem.

ive only had my iPod for like 3 days! and last night i disconnected the usb cable from the computer to put it on my usb power adapter then in the morning i put it back in my computer (the usb cable) and tried connecting my iPod and the computer wouldnt recognize the usb cable though the ipod is charging.

i have:
-un installed and installed ipod
-restarted my ipod
-moved the usb cable thing to different ports

im gonna try draining the battery i heard it worked for someone but i still need help if that doesnt work! i want my ipod back! it works but i cant connect it which means i cant update it!!! help!!!:(

someone please help if you know i tried draining this stupid thing but it turned off by itself but i had it playing music! but thats not the thing i just want it working ughhh stupid computer wont get the usb thing and wont connect and i need to update my music!

ok so i called the apple people and they kinda solved my problem. ok first off you only get ONE free call to them like during the 90 days of purchsing your ipod so dont call more than once lol because its like 40 dollars a call ok so they told me that i need the ipod DOCK with USB 2.0 to connect again. so i need to go buy that and its like $20. hopefully this solves my problems and if it does i will most deff tell everyone.

well i dont know what the heck was wrong with my ipod lol but i did drain the battieries and when it was really dead i plugged it in and it connected! it works now! :) yay kjust drain the battieries completely till it wont even turn on!!
