Ipod dies after 2.0.1 update

I ran the 2.0.1 update, computer said to connect to power source, connected and Ipod froze and would not come back to life. Apple replaced with new Ipod. Connected new Ipod. Computer said "Ipod Not Readable" and gave the option to update. Updated again. Ipod froze and would not come back to life. Completely dead once again. Ipod sounds like it is running. Completely blank. Nothing happens when try to reset, plug into wall or plug into computer.

Have you tried forced firewire mode? Do a reset (if you can), then press FF and REW buttons until it says OK to Disconnect.

Might also want to try things w/o the iPod Manager installed.

If it still doesn't work, I'd try a different firewire card as this has happened on 2 iPods, it's probably related to that although we can't be certain yet...
