Case gets here by the 15TH!!!!!! so what im asking is what can i do to protect my iPod untill my case gets here? ie: make a temp. case. I was thinking a plastic bag. any ideals would be welcome. have fun whats the craziest thing you can think of? :D

2 Ziploc bags. Blow a bit of air into the outer one to "cradle" the pod.

Why would a sock scratch, unless it had dirt in it? There's a company out there that makes socks specifically for the iPod.

Haha.. the height of iPod scratchphobia. Although, I was almost as paranoid when I first got mine.

I keep mine in a binocular case that is fake leather lined with a soft cloth. look around for a camera case maybe.
I also sometimes use a gutted Sony walkman with styrofoam padding.
socks work too.
or, just be careful. I kept mine in my pocket for a long time without a case. I just made sure it was the ONLY thing in my pocket ;)
keys + ipod = :(

well, you don't have to. when you open the box, new ipod is sealed with translucent wrap. so until the case will be arrived, why don't you just keep this wrap with your ipod. that will be fine.

Saran Wrap, when coupled with one of the below, is the best cheap solution for temporary protection.
-The plastic covering the iPod comes in
-if you have one, a PDA case
-sewed or taped up eyeglass cleaning cloth
-small ziploc bags
-poker cards box

yes i had this phobia too lol i did this AFTER i had an iskin and it permanently damaged the surface of the pod.

i only used this one for like a couple days, and none of the tap is in contact with the pod itself
