Contour Showcase turning yellow

Hey, all. I bought a Showcase 4G about three weeks ago to give my 'pod some "Y2K-level-paranoia" protection. In those three short weeks, the Showcase's white rubber has started to turn a rather nasty yellow or beige, kind of like a white computer after three or four years of use. I thought that it might have been from a lot of finger oils, (I handle my iPod a lot :D ) so I tried washing it with mild soap and a washcloth like the directions said. But it did nothing! I'm thinking that this may have been from exposure to the sun - in which case, there may be nothing to do about it.
It's quite ugly now- it really contrasts with the iPod itself, which is still bright white.
Any ideas?

it happens with pretty much all of the white showcases wether they turn blue due to being in jean pockets or whatever. there really arent any solutions except for one that ive seen people talk about a decent amount on the forums and that is dying it using RIT dye or something like that. the pics ive seen have come out nice.

not all too sure on that... you could try it, if the color looks bad you really have nothing to lose by doing it

Yes, unfortunately my angelic white showcase looks like it's been down on its luck for a good while.

Begrudgingly, I picked up an inexpensive clear case for times when I'm sitting around (stationary) listening to the iPod, but when you're out and about you need added protection and, well... it's like wearing dirty sneakers with a nice suit that you spent a lot of money on. You just don't want to do that.

Today I ordered the black Showcase. You can't beat the quality of this case and black will STAY black, you know? It was $21+ on Amazon, by the way, which is less than I paid for its white counterpart some months ago.
