Argh! Won't get past Apple Screen...

Hey all!

just took delivery of a 30Gb iPod from the US.

I charged it up and everything - when I turn it on it won't get past the folder icon with a hazard sign?

Well - it did once but then it wouldn't turn off from the 'Ok To Disconnect' to I plugged it back into the mains and pressed menu and play button at once and it reset back to that #### folder icon!

Argh - can anyone help!

Er....ok I have got past that now - connected to musicmatch and installed all teh software...uplaoded a few mp3's to test my ipod out - and now it can't get out of the 'Ok To Disconnect' screen...tried holding down play/pause button to turn it off - nada..

Try toggleing the hold switch on an off a couple of times, then do a reset.

well...####...I formatted it...hooked it up again...put some mp3's on it from musicmatch...know they're on there because I played them from the ipod thru musicmatch...the I ejected the iPod - it said 'Ok To Disconnect' - so I disconnected - and still it won't let me access anything other than the darn 'Ok to disconnect' screen.

Toggled the hold switch then did a restart - and it came up with that folder icon with a hazard sign and then shut down.

you got to be patient with it. Let it do what it has to do. Mine did the same thing. I got impatient the first time and hooked it back up. I reseted the pod and just waited for everything to finish. It works pefectly now.

thanks mate - but I've had it - 2 days now and it's still doing the same thing - crazy. I went to the support section on apple and as it is still covered by warranty they are gonna fix it - which is cool...bit of a bummer but I guess #### happens...ephod kicks the snot out of MM though - great program - just wish I could listen to all teh songs I have put on it - hahahahah
