This is reguarding both ipod orginal and mini's. I heard when you charge an ipod in their cases, it over heats the ipod which leads to damage, And it drains the Maximum battery life off the ipod. Is this true? Thanks in advance, Zaltexx.

If the case is ventilated it will be OK. The damage to the battery is caused by extreme heat, so the damage probably won't be damaged.

CHarging doesn't normally produce a lot of heat in the iPod anyway. But I do take mine out of the case when I transfer a lot of music. When the harddrive operates for a long time the ipod tends to get quite hot.

My iskin is vented on the back as iskin states is safe to recharge with the skin on. I wouldn't recommend doing it with any leather case or non vented case though. The build up of heat can shorted the over all life of the battery not to mention the added heat cannot be good for the electronics.

if you are using an iskin make sure to take off the clip because the pad got melted onto my ipod, it did come off and leave my ipod unharmed, but it was a pain.
