In case some one else out there thought to try the iPod adapter made by Blaupunkt for their Ford installed Blaupunkt car stereo. Don't! First of all, the Blaupunkt service for the Midwest, "Midwest Electronics" certainly don't come off as experts about this in anyway! Personally I would never do business with them again. They also appear to be the only one's selling this adapter in the U.S. Second, this adapter didn't work at all with the Blaupunkt CD/MP3 player that was installed from the factory in my 2003 Ford Focus. Though the connections in the back of the unit are normal Blaupunkt style connections. Not some Ford/Blaupunkt hybrid as mentioned in other forums regarding this particular stereo.

Hmm well not to sound like a jerk but its sort of foolish to assume an adapter made for an aftermarket deck will work on your OEM one regardless if the manufacturer is the same... Not that they are a good company but this is a common sense issue and nothing else. No one is going out and trying to hook Alpine's adapter to their OEM decks...

Wow, lol...Crutchfield has it at $79.99 to preorder, Midwest Electronics (which I guess has it in stock) is selling it for $150. I'd wait a month or so and get it for that anyway.

Well prefacing a jerky statement with "not to sound like a jerk" doesn't excuse you when you make a very jerky statement. I only half expected the interface to work and I'm warning others that might have had the same idea that it is a dead end. Maybe, I'm a little niave being a Mac user, thnking that a manufacturer would make stuff that actually worked with their other stuff. How stupid of me.

I'm having the same problem with my Blaupunkt Bremen head unit. I can't get it to work although the iPod seems to partially react to it with strange menus.
I know the iPod adapter is plugged in properly because if I enable Aux1 on the Bremen and play something through the iPod, it comes out through my car speakers. It also charges the ipod. However, I can't control the iPod and the MP3 ID3 tags don't come through.
Quite frustrating....
