I decided I wanted to get the Aux-Pod for my 2002 ford escape w/ in-dash 6-cd changer mach stereo. Is there a website I can order it off of. I don't want to go to a dealer and ebay is pretty expensive. Also when installing it it says you need to be sure to connect Yellow wire to +12volts and Black wire to ground! What exactly does that mean. And one guy talked about a wire tap. I have no idea what a wire tap is. Is this radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=64-3052 what I need?

Alright I know a website. Now I need to know what they mean by connecting ground and 12v. The website says aux-pod is not compataqble with ford escapes with in dash 6 cd player. Yet some people say it still works. Any help?

The auxiliary input adapters rely on the head unit having a CD changer port on the back. In-dash changers generally do not have that port because it's not needed: everything is internal.

What that means is you are going to need to tap into 12 volt constant “yellow” and ground “black”. They might be the same color in the car so all you would do is match them by color but I am not 100% on that.

Any luck yet with your ford escape install? I am wanting to buy an ipod nano and use it in my 02 ford escape...since I am in it about 2 hours everyday.
Did you need any special tools to get your head unit out?
My biggest concerns is that I want to still have use of my cd changer.
I am looking at wire-tunes.com I have found their kits on ebay for around 70 bucks...which is about 100 less than what they retail for. I am not set on wire-tunes....I haven't did a lot of research on others yet.
Any information that you have found for your escape will be very useful for me.
Thanks,
