View Full Version : Ipod Cleaner
I just got my bottle of Ipod cleaner and it rocks! I was so bummed when my new 30gb Ipod came to me with some minor scratches on the display. After about a minute or two of rubbing the cleaner on the screen and buffing it off, all scratches are removed. get yours at http://www.ipodcleaner.com

I just $@$@ing dropped my new 10GB iPod and I have somewhat deep scratches on one of the corners, its just annoys me, its really not that bad. do you think that iCleaner will at least reduce them. Thanks...
I would say it would depend how dep the scratches are. Also, which corners (metal or plastic)? I haven't tried the metal polish but it looks like some pretty strong stuff (came with a latex glove to use to apply). It took a few applications to get the scratches of my display but they eventually did come out completely.

Good to hear it works :)
Would you mind doing a test for me, though? Rub where the scratches use to be with your finger (not extremely hard, but with decent pressure) and see if any of the scratches reappear...I'm wondering if it simply applies a thin layer over the scratch like grout between tiles.
Also, when you get a chance, try using it on the backside. I am beginning to see some very minor scratches on the back of mine and may invest in this product later. :)

I bought the whole package (both the back metal cleaner and the ipod front cleaner). Personally I don't think that the amount they give you is worth the 20 some odd dollars that they charge but that's just me.
I have one of those isee cases and it scratched the front of my ipod (there were a couple of straight lines down at the bottom of the screen). I apply the ipod cleaner, nothing happens, I apply it again, still nothing. It is a major pain to try and keep it out of the cracks in the keys because you have to use a towel and the ipod is a small surface and my scratch is at the bottom of the screen. I decided to try the ipod cleaner one more time and still nothing. I even tried put the heavy duty cleaner it comes with on the front just to see if it would do anything. The whole plastic got really foggy and rough and I had to polish it with ipod cleaner until the misty look was gone and it was smooth again. Then I look and there is still a scratch!!
I applied it about 8 more times and yes, the scratch is gone now, but I could barely see it before so I'm not quite sure if it was worth the effort
My conclusion is that the ipod cleaner is good if you want to spend a couple of hours meticulously cleaning your ipod in a repititious fashion, but tiny scratchs its not worth the effort.
What I use my ipod cleaner for is peace of mind (along with the Comp Usa TAP). I carry my ipod caseless in my pocket because its just too bulky any other way, so I know that if I do get a scratch I can get rid of it and I won't get crazy about it.
