This is my first post here, I have searched the first two pages of the forum and can't find an answer so please bear with me if this is a common question.

I have recently bought a Flexdock Mini. When I turn the engine off and take the keys out of the ignition, the green LED power light on the Flexdock is still "on". The first time I left the dock in the lighter socket when I was not driving was for 2 hours. When I came back to start the car, it kind of spluttered and I had to try twice turning the ignition on for it to start. Does this mean that the dock has been draining the power from my car battery? I have been too scared to try again in case I am left stranded.

If this is not the case, and it is safe to leave the dock in place, is it still alright to leave it in place with the Ipod connected to it and charging, as surely then it will be taking power from my car?

Any help is much appreciated.

It kind of sounds to me like your car is still providing power to the flexdock after you have turned the key off (due to green light being on).

We have a flexdock in my wife's highlander and when the key is turned off, power to the ipod is removed which caused the ipod to pause, thus we just leave it for the ipod will turn itself off after a few minutes.

I would not worry about the ipod draining your battery for once it is fully charged it no longer will draw current from the battery.

If you want to play it safe, just hit the pause button on the ipod and after a few minutes it will turn itself off.

Hope this helps

Thats great thanks.

I assume then that if I leave the dock connected, but without the Ipod on it, no power will be drawn from the battery and so I won't have to worry.

I don't mind having to take the Ipod out (I probably will anyway otherwise it would be on show) just a pain having to take the dock out everytime as well.

Even if you are being drained, u must have an old battery that needs changing soon for this to matter. A good battery has plenty of energy compared to what a tiny iPOD can draw for a couple of hours.

Yep gave it a go today, left it all plugged in a good 5/6 hours and it was fine.

Must have just been coincidence with the weird start the first time.

Cheers for all your help and advice guys.
