I have been looking into listening to my IPod in my car but my new car, one month old has navigation and JBL stereo.
In my research here and other places, Icelink and Neo are mentioned alot. But the Navi complicates things and Toyota is not in the fore- run in Ipod interface like BMW.
And talking to some car stereo shops, some say that something new is coming down the pike especially for Toyotas. Meanwhile, I bought a FM transmitter and it was a waste of money (here in Los Angeles.)
What is the best way to get hook up with my IPod and Camry? I would love to control the Ipod thru my steering wheel. And of course, the dashboard has to look neat and clean. I guess there is an aux input that I connect my ipod to.
Does someone have a picture of how that will look like on the dashboard?

the best suggestion i have is to call the parts department at your local toyota dealer and ask if they sell a cd changer for your model, if they do then most likely the neo or icelink would work for you. I have a corolla and that was the route i had to take.

I will check it out. I email a company called mp3foryourcar and they said that their adapter will work for my car.
if I dont get the cd changer, I cant use an adapter like neo and icelink?

No, you must have a port to plug in a CD Changer in order to use Neo or IceLink. So, if you call toyota and they tell you one is available, then you have the port. I would not worry too much about it, the odds are you do have the neccessary port. If the Neo website says its compatible, I would go for it.
I just installed the Neo iOn in my 2004 Toyota Corolla yesterday. The sound is amazing! A few words of caution, if you are installing it yourself be very careful. I scratched up my dash with the underside of the radio and I lost the 4 bolts that you have to remove inside the dashboard, so I have to go to home depot and get 4 new ones. You are better off having it installed at Circuit City or Best Buy, save yourself the hassle and possible damage to your car.

This weekend I went to a few electronic places, and circuit city has something called wire-tunes and Best Buy has monster icruze. Has anyone tried these?
They both are compatible with my Toyota camry. I wonder if they are better than Neo? There prices are comparable under $200.

UPDATE: I learned about a company in Santa Ana , Calif that sells PAC-Pacific Assessory Corp. that sells a Ipod interface. A local audio shops sells it and it sounds great. It will be $170 out of the door, I can use my steering wheel to control it, when I shut off the car , it shuts off the ipod, it recharges and when I turn the car again, it starts where it left off.
Anyone ever hear of it?
Sounds perfect. Their website is www.pac-audio.com

Okay, I ordered PAC and the audio place should have it done this week. I will keep everyone posted on how it sounds. I am a little nervous this being a new car barely a month old. But I love my IPod and getting clean sounds from my car stereo and being able to control it from the steerng wheel sound really SWEET.

Stingray, I also have a 2005 Camry XLE w/factory navigation. Based on some advice received on another thread, I went with the iPod2Car adaptor. It looks and sounds great. Search this forum for the following post (I can't post the URL):
Help with a 2005 Toyota Camry XLE w/Navigation iPod solution ...
I posted a picture along with some comments.
