Oh my gosh I don't know if anybody has posted this already, but #### that star wars kid is so freaking funny. I am glad video cameras were way to expensive when I was that age!
A true geek with his glory. I heard he got an iPod

I saw both videos... definately funny.
I heard the story was that he borrowed the camera from school and taped himself. When he returned the camera, he forgot to remove the tape:D

Here is the 411. About a month and a half ago. This tape was video was released on the internet that is about a 14-15 year old chunky kid who set up a video camera in his school and taped him self with a golf ball retriever immitating darth maul from TPM. There are currently two videos circulating, one with him just being him (which is some funny shizzle) and another with sound effects. Just do a search for Star Wars kid on google and it will come up.

ROFLMAO!! :D :D :D
That was hysterical. Yes, great job to those who did the "Remix" and "Reloaded" versions!

EDIT: Read this article (http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,58881,00.html) about The Kid. A collection was taken up for him, and they're buying him an iPod!! I wonder if he's found the 'lounge yet?
If so - Hey Kid! Great job!! :D :D :D

It's CanaWinPod! Ha ha. :D ;)
I almost fell out of my chair when I watched the other versions. That was hilarious. Nothing like a good laugh at someone else expense.:D

They're buying him an iPod and then getting him gift certificates for the difference. But: his parents have hired a lawyer to start suing people over this, and now a lot of the people who donated money want their money back. The whole story is here (http://www.waxy.org/archive/2003/05/29/ghyslain.shtml). I liked the kid when he was just doing what we all do: pretending to kick it with a lightsaber in a private moment, but if he becomes The Kid Who Sued People, I dunno... I don't think his parents and lwyer realize that people love the video not because they're making fun of him, but because every male person (and some female people) who was born in or after 1969 and saw Star Wars has done the same thing. My friends and I used to do it dusty rooms with flashlights.
And I have to admit to striking a Kung-Fu pose in the men's room at the movie theatre after watching The Matrix: Reloaded.
A) I've never done any men's room poses or behaved in the manner that Ghyslain did. I do find the video's very amusing and if I ever do dance around like a goon I'm sure I'll experience a new found connection to our young, Canadian friend (and others). ;) If someone then decides to setup a PayPal account, accept donations on my behalf, and forward all the proceeds to me...well...I'll feel like one very lucky person...and one very bad dancer. :)
B) Neither he, or more importantly his family have expressed intent to pursue legal action against anyone. Quoted from the article at Waxy.org that you linked too..."We are preparing opinions for our clients on the array of judicial options which are available to them, the judicial means which are open to them to seek damages for what was done to them, and our clients, in a few days or in a few weeks, will reach a decision the means by which they will come before the court, if in fact they do, to seek damages. If this changes and they do start suing people I will personally call Master Yoda and have him put the smack down on Ghyslain's family. :) :) :)
Hopefully there won't be any lasting harm (emotional or otherwise) to young Ghyslain. I mean, if he ends up with his new iPod and one song...Wham's "Careless Whispers"...sitting in a back alley smoking crack...then...well...aslong as the statute of limitations hasn't expired he might want to consider such legal "options".
That's my take on the Star Wars Kid. I'm with you Eustaces...playing the litigation game will only prolong the end of his 15th minute of fame...and in a very negative way.

After seeing the video and having it remind me that there is a star wars kid in all of us I donated some money to the cause. I thought it was cool way for this kid who was just being a kid getting screwed over by some jerks from his school getting his due. I think a happy ending will come and he will enjoy his iPod and his big gift certificate. They should hold a contest what crazy thing would you do for an iPOD and have this guy judge it!
