Not connecting with Itunes after using friends computer

I just got my ipod yesterday and put all my cd's on it at home. Today I went to a friend's house and he put a cd on there. Now when I try to connect my ipod to itunes at the house it says "do not disconnect" and keeps on flashing for what seems like forever. I know it's probably doing this because my itunes and my ipod don't match up exactly now so how do i fix that? I also deleted all the songs off my computer which probably made it worse. So do I have to keep all these songs on my computer to sync up with my Ipod? Or what?

Yea if you deleted all the songs on your computer the ipod is going to delete everything off the ipod when it auto syncs. and your gonna loose everything. all the songs have to be on the computer. you can't copy songs off of the ipod onto the computer unless you have a 3rd party program like copypod or something. There's probably an error on the ipods drive that prevents it from reading correctly. Maybe from improper ipod eject. Reforrmatting will most likely fix the problem but all your music has to be backed up.
