iPod Video idea

I just had a great idea while people were complaining about how watching video on a 2 inch screen would not be fun (indeed it wouldnt) On the nextgen iPod, why not make the click wheel a nintendo-ds style touchpad, so you could select a video, and then the control could disappear until the user touches it again, enabling them to use the entire surface for a screen? Just an idea. Only bad thing would be the fingerprints. ugh.

If that was an original idea, that was very intuitive, no sarcasm intended at all.

I find that a Video Ipod with merely a screen that, if touched, would pull up buttons (like your mouse on a computer) would be a superb idea... for a Apple Video. I think pulling out a screen from your pocket would be really really innovative, but it would be straying away from Apple's Ipod proposition of music based products simply due to lack of buttons. Wouldn't this... "music player" lose its music player aesthetic qualities?

that should be the ivideo, or vpod.

if they add video to the ipod they shouldnt change anything to suit the video.

Even if they do the touchscreen idea:

- The screen will still be small, just less small
- The screen will be covered in fingerprints.

the idea of a touch screen scroll wheel is awesome! i don't think it will hurt apple in terms of cost to implement it since the nintendo ds is only like 200 bucks right? even if apple doesn't come up with a video ipod, its still nice to have a bigger screen to show more songs. hopefully the battery life wouldn't be affected that much by it...
