I claim much ignorance here, but is there another way to use the Ipod with the car stereo other than the cassette tape adapter? Thanks.

There are a bunch of "solutions". You can look up the Denison ICE-Link, which will hook into some OEM headunits. You can controll the various functions with the headunits buttons, but not totally. Another solution is the Monster iPod Link which has components you buy. If you have or want an aftermarket headunit, you can get one that has iPod functionality (Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer). Lastly you can get something that allows you hook into the changer input such as a Blitz-Safe adaptor. This is the option i chose. using the adaptor and the belkin car adaptor, i have to just plugin my dock connector. I've even wired up an auxillary 12 plug in my glovebox for it. I'm contemplating using the Ice-Link...its just more $$ to spend though and what i have now works great.

There is a simpler solution that doesn't have to be hard-wired into your car: an FM transmitter. It's a small device that plugs into the top of your iPod. You then tune your radio to an unused frequency and the iPod plays through your radio that way. There are many manufacturers including Belkin and the more stylish iTune.

Sounds great. However, some vandal broke off my antenna. Does that matter?

Although it depends on the car, as a rule this shouldn't be a problem. Generally, the FM transmitter solutions have enough power that they can transmit to the FM radio itself directly, and the external attenna on the car seldom makes that much of a difference.
