I got the box installed and everything looks good, but it doesn't work as advertised. I get great sound and the iPod charges, but I have no control from the stock head unit and the iPod does not turn on or off with the car or stereo. My car is the Si model, but I think all the factory radios, regardless of trim, are the same. Is anyone else having this problem? What is everyone else using in their Civic to control your iPod through your factory radio? I think most of these devices are basically the same with just a different brand name on them.
Also, what dip switches were in what position when the unit was installed? (Regardless of the brand)
Thanks in advance!
(I've contacted the company and they said they haven't heard of any problems with Civics and product compatability.)

Well, through some internet digging, I thought I found a possible solution with the dip switches (using 2 on instead of 3), but it didn't work. As per supports advice, I unplugged the device and cycled my car key off and on a few times. Plugged everything back together and it's not any better, although I have been noticing that on rare occasion, as soon as I start my car, I can use the radio buttons to choose the previous track. After I hit it once, it stops working and I have to go back to using the iPod to control everything but the volume.

Hmm... is it possible you got a bunk adapter?
Have you tried setting up your playlists again then restoring the iPod and reseting it up with music again?

Triple check your DIP switches. I had mine messed up, and it took me a few days to figure out what went wrong.
One other tip for the AuxPod in my Buick that I've found is to turn the iPod off (sleep actually), turn off my head unit, plug in the iPod to the AuxPod, then turn on my headunit, and then the iPod. As long as I do it in this order, the steering wheel and head unit controls work. This seems to be mandatory for my new 30GB photo iPod, and wasn't so much for my older 20GB 4G B&W iPod.

All good tips. I'll try them after work today. Thanks. I don't want to give up on this device until I've exhausted all possible fixes.

Well, I tried the radio/iPod sequence stated above and it didn't help. So I restored my iPod and reloaded one playlist and nothing. I tried teh sequence after I formated my iPod and it still didn't work. Although, I have noticed that it wants to work! When I first start up, I can use my head unit to scroll back a song or two and today i was able to go back two songs and forward one! It's still not working as advertised, but it wants to!

Maybe replacing the adapter itself? Never used one myself but trying to think of ways to fix/work around it.

That is starting to look like my only option/fix at this point.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2001 Civic. Did you ever find a good solution to this?

No. I contacted the company and they said it may be a faulty unit. They offered to replace it, but by that time I had adjusted to changing tracks and playlists without the radio buttons and just using the ipod. Plus, I already had it mounted securely behind the dash and I didn't feel like ripping my car apart again. I decided to cut my losses and keep my car the way it is. I'm not sure I would even use the radio controls if they worked.
My younger brother just hooked up his car with this unit and it works perfectly. He has a 98 civic EX and the cable they spec'd for it was wrong, so he used one made for a Chrysler. He has no problems with the way it operates.
Sorry I can't be more help. If you have the time and don't mind doing a lot of testing, I found that there are a lot of similar devices on the market and one might work for your car.

I feel about the same way. I bought mine off of ebay. Seller offered for me to return it but I don't feel like tearing my dash apart again. Especially since I just bought one of the new mounts from pro-clip with a dock connector, my ipod is right next to my head unit anyway. Thanks for the feedback.
