I don't know if this is a redundant question, but I did search the forum for about an hour and didn't find any questions EXACTLY like this one...so I am going to ask anyway.

I just got my Ipod mini and want to use it in my car. I bought the Belkin car kit with cassette adapter, charger and FM transmitter. The transmitter stinks, but I like the cassette adapter. The only thing is after about 15 minutes of play, it switches from Tape A to Tape B and then back again. It does this ALL the time! VERY ANNOYING! I drive a 2002 Ford Focus. Anyone have any advice, help, information to assist me? I don't have the owner's manual, I can't find it. I have two cassette adapters (Belkin and one from my CD player) and they both do the same thing.

HELP ME?????????

There's a little pinch wheel thing on the adpator which has a spring - this turns and fools the HU into thinking the tape is moving.

If the spring is too strong, it presses against the HU pinchroller and acts as if the tape has got to the end (this increased tension is what the HU uses to know when the tape has finished).

The HU then plays the other side, except there is still too much pressure so it thinks the tape has got to the end. And plays the other side...

My HU actually got fed up with this and would eject the tape, thinking it had jammed.

Solution? Try and reduce the spring pressure. Have I tried it? No, I only read about this after I'd returned numerous adaptors and finally got an Alipine HU and iPod interface...
