Ok, I got an Itrip but I never installed the software for it. It works just fine with the default station (87.1)
Now, everytime I plug in the Itrip to my Ipod, I have to do a soft reset for the light on the Itrip to come on and start working.
Is that normal? Shouldn't I just have to turn off the Ipod and plug in the Itrip and be done with it?
I have a 30GB Photo Ipod by the way.
Please help.
Thank you.

Try going to the iTrip station playlist and re-programming it for 87.1. Re-progamming usually fixes things.
Sometimes, especially with the iPod photo, it can take a little while for the light to come on (10 seconds?) and even longer for the iTrip to actually kick in and start broadcasting (another 10 seconds, maybe?). Let it go for at least 30 seconds and see what happens before worrying about resetting.
Sometimes it won't kick in for me, and I just unplug and plug the iTrip back in and try again, that usually does it. I've never had to soft reset to get it to work.

You were right, I guess with the photo, it can take a while to kick in.
I tried a few times waiting and it eventually kicked in.
I'm glad it works. I knew it couldn't be good to have to reset it everytime.
Thanks for the help.
I didn't even install the software for the Itrip. It works great without it, so why bother.
Unless there's an advantage if I installed the software.
I know then I would have a bigger selection of stations. Anything else besides that?
