I just got a 2003 Passat GLS with a monsoon stereo system. I have hooked up my ipod using an aux pod (http://www.pac-audio.com/auxbox/Default.htm) and I have a couple of questions if someone could help me out.
1) Road noise. I am getting a good bit of road noise (whining and static) when using the ipod. What is the best solution for this? I have read that I need a noise filter, or a power filter, or ground loop filter, or something... but I don't know what to get or how to install it.
2) The ipod doesn't turn off when I turn the car off. The aux-pod website says that it should turn off automatically for most vehicles. Is the passat just one of those vehicles that it doesn't work for? Or is there something I can do to fix this? Right now I have jumpers 1 and 8 turned on and all the rest off... is that correct for my car? I read somewhere else (can't find it now), that I should have only one jumper on.
