Everytime I hit 6500 revs my iPod crashes! Now if this was a car it wouldn't worry me but seeing as its my shiney new Triumph I am a bit sad :-(

I though I was being clever by buying a Belkin car charger, sticking it in a water proof box and hiding it under a faring. This approach works well with the charger for my Fuji 6800 but the car charger for that has a pretty comprehensive smoothing circuit. The Belkin has virtually nothing to protect the iPod other than a fuse which *may* or *may not* blow in time.

Anybody got any ideas? Its happened twice and I do not want to try it again in case it permanently damages my iPod.

Damian

PS First post so be gentle :-)

Wow...that's interesting. I will guess that your alternator is getting a bit excited and pumping out too much juice to the charger when you rev that high? That said, jeeze, man, how often do you hit 6500 rpm???

ya 6500 rpms is getting quite high. perhaps you could just drive the speed limit and maybe your problem will go away

6500 revs? Pretty much with in 150 yards of the house The Triumph redlines at just over 10,000. My suzuki winds on up to over 13,000 but I only use the iPod on battery on that one.

Like I said, if it was a car I would not worry. I should have pointed out Triumph only make bikes.
