Hi, I just ordered a second hand iPod photo, but now I was reading about the system requirements that you need on your computer and it seems that my computer doesn't live up to these requirements. I have quite an old computer with Windows ME and USB 1.1. Can anyone tell me whether it will work on my computer or not? I guess I can cancel the deal if it doesn't work...

i got mine to work pretty good. Basically, all you really need xp/2000 for is to format the ipod for windows. If you got the ipod from a guy with a Mac, then go to a friends house with xp and set it up, you can come home and use ephpod or the ipod winamp plugin to put music on. if you got it from a guy with windows, you're in luck, you can plug it in and go straight to putting music on with those programs! for more info go to the link at the bottom of this message.

Thanx a lot for this link. I already found it, before posting my topic I seemed a bit overwhelmed by all this (technical) information on this forum, but after searching a bit, I found out how to use the iPod on windows ME, so now, all I have to do is wait for the iPod to arrive to my house ;)

Why do you have to format the iPod again with winamp? Will this not delete the updated information that I already have put on the iPod, using the XP computer? I am just curious, as I have been formatting my iPod two times already on someone elses computer and then I used it on my computer with ephpod, but in the end it crashes and the iPod keeps on restarting over and over again and I have to reset it and format it again on a XP computer. Will this not be the case when using Winamp? (the crashing I mean?)

I guess you don't have to format the ipod again with winamp, when I did that it started working, and I was just copying exactly what I did.

You can buy a ubs2.0 pci card and plug it into your PC, the transfert will be faster (very faster)
