Hello Everyone,
It has been a while since Ive posted.
I used iPod agent to put all of my music from ipod to hard drive. during this my ipod ran out of batteries which subsequently caused agent to lock up
i have so much music that i couldnt pinpoint exactly where it stopped (the songs are saved in folders under names and hard to look through)
anyway, I started with songs beginning with L, because that is about where it left off.
I ended up putting a lot of duplicate songs on my hard drive saved like this

03 Lenny.m4a and one called 03 Lenny_0001.m4a....how can i find and get rid of these duplicate songs off of my hard drive.....clearing from itunes doesnt get rid of the actual file

have you tried to find this duplicate song in itunes?

if you didn't, open itunes, go to preferences, check copy songs to itunes music library.

then, choose add to library on popup menu. you need to wait for a while. then, go to Edit menu. you will see 'show duplicate songs'. click it. itunes will show you them. after doing it, just choose unneccessary songs, and delete them. that's all.

of course, you can find each folder where these songs were copied, then deleted.
