Connection Shuffle (Please Help!!!)

I just bought my iPod Shuffle, and after installing the software and then connecting it to my USB port (not USB2), the PC seems to pick up the iPod...but the software does not see it. I can not transfer songs onto it. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and had the same issue. Any thoughts??? Please Help!!!

try running iPod restore and reformat it.

Where is that located? How do i do that???

if you have installed the software then it should be in start under iPod updater. Once open choose restore and let it run it's course. once that is done choose update and follow the directions. when that is done it should work in iTunes.
