Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hi All,

The situation is as follows.

1. We have recently added a second ipod to our PC using a separate log in to keep libraries separate.

2. I have ripped a load of CDs to my library, that my GF now wants added to her library as well...

How do we go about sharing these new files?

The itunes folder is in the shared documents section, and both libraries have this as the default location. I was hoping that these would appear in the recently added folder in my GFs library, and she could keep/discard what she wanted. However, they do not appear in her libarary at all...

Is there an easy way to do this ?

BTW this is not piracy as the CDs in question are 'family' CDs that are jointly owned by me and my partner. We simply both want to listen to them on our respective ipods.

Many thanks in advance,

Andy.

copy the folder that has all the music in it to the new login's mymusic folder, then go into iTunes and "add folder to library" and whammy!

No need to eat up disc space and copy the music.
The two copies of iTunes will each have their own database of tracks they know about. Under each log-on you will need to use the Add Folder to Library option each time new files are added to the place you store your music. This is because iTunes won't automatically scan the folder itself. As you are using different log-ons, playlists/ratings etc will remain separate. If you want to share the library including playcounts and ratings etc, I think there's a guide in the Articles section.
