After reading like a million posts on this forum, I realized that everyone asks the same question, what canal phone/headphone should I get. So here, a quick buying gudie for you.

Price:0-$34
Product: Sony MDR-EX81LP
Good: Strong bass, and better treble compare to iPod stock buds.
Bad: Not very detailed.
Overall: Great buy for its price, a good step up from iPod's stock buds, but if you're an audiphile who's looking more details look else where.

Price:$60-$80
Product: Shure E2
Good: A little bit better bass than the EX81, more controlled treble, better instrument separation.
Bad: The bass can be too much for some people, it's a bit boated, not very clean an clear.
Overall: Shure E2 is probably the best choice for most users, without a doubt, it is one of the most recommened canalphone under $70 dollars. Great buy.

Price:$100-$110
Product: Shure E3
Good: More detail than the Shure E2, lack some bass-but both bass and treble is more controlled and refined.
Bad: With its high level of detail, the Shure E3c will require you to have your music at least 128kps AAC or above. Mp3 format users should have it at 192kps Mp3 or above to take advantage of the phone.
Overall: If bass isn't your thing, and you care for more details, get the E3, you wont regret it.

Price:$200-250
Product: Shure E4
Good: Shure E4 sounds very closely to the E3 but with an improve bass. The bass on the E4 has more impact and it goes very deep.
Bad: Need an amp to have Shure E2 type of bass, but it can definately be brought out.
Overall: The E4 has the E3's detail with the E2's bass (better bass than the E2), many users have stated that it is the canal phone to beat under $200.

Price:$200
Product:Ultimate Ears Super.Fi EB
Good: Bass. The EB has the most bass over ANY single driver canal phone.
Bad: NOt very detailed and the bass overshine the treble, very difficult to hear teble detailed notes. NOt a lot of insturment separation.
Overall: Great canalphoen for Hip/Hop bass oriented music.

Price: $250
Product: Ultimate Ears Super.Fi Pro
Good: Bass is more balanced than the EB and more detailed. Big soundstage.
Bad: The high notes are still missing, and I feel the Shure E4 has more detail at a lower price.
Overall: SF.Pro is a bass oriented phone for the average user, if you're an audiophile, look elsewhere.

Price:$320
Product: Westone UM2
Good:
Bad:
Overall:

Price: $350
Product: Shure E5c
Good:
Bad:
Overall:

Price:$550 (w/o impression)
Product: Ultimate Ears UE5c
Good:The most balanced, musical, and detailed canalphone I've ever listened to.
Bad: Exspensive, no resell value since they are only made for your ears.
Overall: Custom IEM is the absolute best route for earphones/ear-buds, save your money, it will be well worth it.

Guys, help me fill in the missing two phones, I haven't listen to them.

awesome guide. However, $400 for shure e5c is now a bit too much. Right now you can easily find it for $350.

Also, I think you are missing Koss ksc75. It is about $20, and it sounds much better than sony ex81sl.

can you write something about the Koss so I can add it in? I've never listened to them before so I can't write about them.

Product: Koss Ksc75
Good: Sound like a $90 ~ $100 headphone, such as Grado SR60, awesome bass, clear mid and high, super price / performance ratio.
Bad: Provide no isolation. It is a clip-on headphone
Overall: Simply does not sound like a $20 headphone. If you want to spend $20, you won't regret getting this. However, this provides no isolation. If you want isolation, and performance close to this headphone, your next bet is shure e2c or e4c.

I swear by the Etymotic ER-6i earphones. The in-ear sensation takes getting used to, but for a motorcycle rider like myself, having the ~20dB isolation eliminates the need for earplugs and the audio quality is great.
