I had a hd crash recently and needed to recover my iPod's contents. I used copypod and now all my songs are back and I have a new iTunes 4.9. But, now when I try to connect the iPod to iTunes I get, "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software."
I have reinstalled iTunes 4 or 5 times and it makes no difference. I have tried to restore the ipod to factory settings and just reload the music again but all of the iPod updater programs say "iPod service error."
Please help. I don't mind deleting everything and starting over because all the music is now on my hd and in iTunes.
Thanks!
