iPod mini has very low battery life...

I have an iPod mini that I purchased late October 2004, and its battery life is 1-4 hours just kept in my pocket, playing music and doing nothing else. I asked about it on the official iPod forums, and the replies indicated that since Apple advertises “up to eight hours” of battery power on a single charge, I can do nothing at all. I worked hard to get it, and now I’m very upset about this.

You're still in warranty, so try the battery test here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61475), and contact Apple (http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/) if you still get 4 hours or less. Good luck!

They will actually charge you shipping though, so it might be more worth it to buy an after market battery and replace it yourself (it'll be cheaper than the shipping alone, plus you'll get a better battery life out of it).

I believe I saw a class-action settlement on the battery issue.
