Etymotic ER4-P earphones

I'm not sure if it's just the type of material used for the white ear inserts, but they seem to get soft over time. Problem with that is that they don't provide a tight seal anymore. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do other than replace them?

You know you're suppose to buy new ones over time right? Not much you can do, they are meant to be replaced over time.

Yeah, I know they're supposed to be changed after a while... but I'm still fairly new to these in-ear types. Never figured silicon would break down in this matter other than ripping like the last pair. Thanks.
