Hi - I've got my new headphones and they sound great when I finally get the seal right but the process is a pain and the seal produces this sort of claustraphobic feeling which I really don't like. I've tried the various sleeves and none of them feel right or are comfortable. The stock buds aren't as good but they were at least comfortable and sounded decent without the sort of vacuum seal needed to make the Shures sound good. Question: is this a normal reaction for someone new to canals and I'll get used to them - or are some people just not cut out for them? Also, are there any headphones out there that are a happy medium in terms of sound/comfort? Any thoughts greatly appreciated. thanks

yeah i just got mine too... i don't think i have mine in right....
The bass just doesn't seem that deep at all, and if i push them in any deeper my ear canal starts to hurt like hell...

I'm having the same experience - they sound like an old transistor radio unless I've got them crammed in uncomfortably deep. I'm ready to send them back.

i know they're in now i don't see how these are sooooo much better? they sound a little better but they hurt like a #####... plus i don't hear much bass, and i know these are in as far as they're gonna go. I think my ear canal gonna bleed soon.

Lol... I'm gotten used to the flex sleeves. Give the foamies a little more effort. Before you put them in, squeeze the foam and put them as deep as you can in your ear before they expand. When they expand it should contour to your ear-canal making it quite comfortable. The foamies are a bit better in sound quality than the flex ones, but they don't last very long and they're very comfortable.
