Hello,
As some of you may know I have been looking to buy a new set of headphones. It is now between the sony EX71's and the EX81's. Despite the arms of the 81's, i don't think they will be that much of a problem with glasses, but i do want to ask a question or 2 about the EX71's.

1. Do these things stay in your ears (formally typed eyes) while working out and such? Because my old apple earbuds always fell out.

2. Are they good for listening to rock music? (note: i don't consider myself to be an audiophile)

Anything else i should know about eithier pair of headphones?

Thanks.

I try not to stick my headphones in my eyes, generally speaking (I'm teasing you, no harm done ;) )

I like my ex71s a lot. they're pretty good about staying in the ear, but if you plan to use them often while working out it might be better to get the 81s, which can't be pulled out of your ears very easily. that's one reason I bought the 81s recently, so I could keep them in my ears when my headphone cord catches on my desk corners (happens ALL the time.)

The 71s are fine for listening to rock music. The bass isn't pounding, but it replicates guitar and vocals very well. I'm using my apple buds at the moment since i left my 71s at home, and they bite. I can't wait to get my 71s back and my 81s at the end of this week.

you might as well buy the 81s, really. i hear they made sound improvements even over the 71s, and they're roughly the same price (currently $32 for the white 81s on Amazon, a good price, plus free shipping) as the 71s, and more likely to stay in your ears at all times.

I will choose the JVC Gumy phones instead. They are available at buy.com for $20!
