I've had a pair of EX-51s for a while, now - since christmas, as I recall. Unfortunately, they took a spot on my shelf shortly after receiving them, since the audio in the left ear was noticably and somewhat irritatingly softer than the audio in the right ear. :P

I realize this is a common problem with these headphones, so I present two questions:

(1) Is it possible to fix these earphones? Audio still comes out of the left earphone, just much less of it. There's no visible blockage that I can see, and the cord seems alright (though undoubtedly that's the problem).

(2) I don't have the original packaging - do you suppose Best Buy will accept it as a return/exchange?

Many thanks.

1) Its cords/wiring are so fragile, I don't recommend trying to fix it.

2) If you have the original purchase receipt and the headphones are still in warranty, you can send it off to Sony for a replacement. Fill out the form here (http://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/index.do).
