I'm interested in purchacing a new set of earphones, and I;ve found two that I like, within my budget. I was wondering which one I should get. the Sony MDR-EX 71, or the Koss Sparkplugs. Hass anyone tried either of them, and what do you have to sya about them, and how do they compare?

I own sparkplugs, and I love them. For a while I used Sony EX71s, and I liked them too (eventually I got a short in the wire though). You can't beat the price or the noice cancellation of the Sparkplugs, but if they aren't in right, they can sound muffled. Make sure you read the direction on how to put them in your ears. They aren't kidding. It helps. I feel like they took a week or so to get used to. I felt like the EX71s took a little getting used to as well, but they didn't take as much time. I feel like both sounded muffled at first until your ears kinda get used to it, I guess.
Bang for your buck? I'd say go sparkplugs. Shoot, they're less than 20 bucks I think. You could try them out easy enough... worst comes to worst... you're out 20 bucks. Or you return them.

I had the ex71's and they were a decent upgrade from the stock ones but the quality of the earphones isn't that well. I've had mine since August, last summer and now they're falling apart on me. I would also consider the koss clips, ksc75 or ksc35. I've heard great things from both. Also if you want to go a little higher than the price of the ex71's I recommend looking at the e2c's. If thats too much I would go with the ksc75's.
