Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. And I need a pair of decent cans. I posted a month or so ago looking for recommendations, so I have SORT of an idea on what I want.

I was going to go down then Grado 60 route... is the Grado 80 worth the extra $20 (I am aware of the bass boost... but worth the extra dough)? Or should I save some cash and go with the 60's? Also, I recently got some advice from some online friends (they were not audiophiles) that recommended the Sennheiser PX100's. Now, I did some research on this headphone, and the results were mainly positive, except for the ocassional audiophile BASHING them to oblivion.

So basically, it's between the Grado 60's, 80's, and Sennheiser PX100's. I just need: quality sound, mobility (and all thing associated with it), and a relatively SHORT cord (again, mobility). Oh yeah, and it has to be under $100.

Thanks for your time.

the grados will not be as portable as the senns...the senns are collapsable i believe, the grados are not, aswell...the grados have a super long cord...

Haven't heard the Grado 80's or the Sennheisers, but the Grado 60's are fantastic although as HomelessIpOD pointed out they are not all that portable. Still, they are easily the best headphones I own. I chose the 60's over the 80's because I'd heard that you needed an amp to really have a noticeable improvement with the 80's.

That's what I thought... even though this will be hard to answer, but has anybody tried both the 60's and PX100's? While mobility is crucial, I don't want to sacrifice too much sound quality for the sake of transportation.

both are great cans, you can get nice reviews of both at headphone.com.
THe px100's are much more portable and are supposed to sound pretty decent
the grados are much less portable but are generally agreed to be the best sounding sub $100 headphones

The px100's are great for portability. But if I were to choose, I would choose the grado sr60's but thats just me. :) I say go for the px100's. Can't really go wrong with senns.
