View Full Version : The mobiBLU Cube DAH-1500....
Yet another product to imitate the controls of the shuffle? -
the mobiBLU Cube DAH-1500. (http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=623&usersessid=87d1211c3c05c58e102d41ce3cdfa99d)
I wouldn't say that. That joystickless circle control is one of the most common things out there, and that thing has a screen.
The problem with these cube mp3 players is that the form factor sucks. Yeah, so a cube looks really cute and all that, but that's about it. A rectangular prism half as deep and twice as tall (gumstick, like the Shuffle) would be much more ergonomic, and it would fit in small pockets better.
I guess if you're going to say that the controls on that thing imitate the Shuffle, you must also say that the Shuffle controls imitate numerous Rio/iRiver players.

i kinda agree with SDA. that thing is cute, nice to display, but it doesn't look ergonomic at all

Hahah this little thing. I saw one the other day. Its so damn tiny. I think its a waste of money though. The things so small you could easily lose it.

The thing i like about that player is that the headphone jack is not only used for audio out, but also as the means for charging it and for transferring data. Everything else probably sucks though.

Is it me, or would it suck to not have the screen on the same side as the controls?
Oh yeah, my usual question, hows the music management software?

A music management software isn't a problem, you can use WMP I prefer over iTunes.

It's a nice little player in a lot of ways, but a few things hold it back vs the shuffle: USB 1.1 transfer rate
Sound quality is only mediocre/OK
2-3 second gap between tracks
6-10 hours battery life
No integrated USB connector
Cubic shape means you may have to fiddle with it to find the sides with the controlsSome may be willing to put up with those disadvantages to have a tiny screen (that can't even be read in daylight!), but I'm not. The ipodlounge trolls will still probably froth at the mouth about how this is a shuffle killer.

It's nice and small but I would rather have a shuffle.

Your a mod, with over 6,000 posts, and you actually said that this is a shuffle imitation?
The only way itd be a shuffle imitation, is if it were stripped of nearly EVERY feature other than shuffle mode.
This ipod ego attitude has really got to go.

Looking closely at the controls I would say that they at least took a hint from the Shuffle. Because everything is exactly the same control wise.
Edit: Saw this (http://www.anythingbutipod.com/) also, Look at the July 24, 2005 post with the Radio Your Way, looks farmiliar EH?
