Next month my iPod mini and it's headphones are goin to be 1 year old. I realy like the design of the headphones bt the sound quality is terrible (a nasty buzz in both ears now) and i'm realy gona need to get sum nu 1's soon.
So i'm wonderin: how long did your iPod headphones last before you HAD to get sum nu 1's?
Also, can anyone suggest some cheap (less than $40/£20) white coloured 'phones that sound good (and feel good 2)? :D

My iPod headphones have lasted forever. Mainly because I leave them in the sealed pouch they came in and use Shure E4c's as my primary headphone.
If you're looking for something cheap, you need to be a little more specific than "feels good" and "sounds good". Are you looking for canalphones? Earbuds? Closed? Open?
By the way, I'm curious - how much time do you save per day typing "sum" instead of "some"?

I replaced my stock hedphuns w Seinheiser's w a volum control switch and better bass pretty much right after I got it. I found the stock ones to be less than comftbl and the sound wasnt that grate. I paid $20 usd for the Sennheisers.
More recntly I got a pair of Sonys w rubr bits that fit in your ear that sound amazing. They were a gft so I'm not sur how mch they cst.

Well I'm very sorry if you can't understand my posts but if you are not going to provide a sensible answer to my question then I suggest you find a post you would like to reply to.
Also, if you are going to critisize my English, then I'm sure that there are a large number of other people using these forums who also use shorthand, and maybe you should be critisizing them too.

check out ipodlounge's buyer's guide. they go through the "best" phones at different price levels. going by your "white" with "decent bass" prerequisites, i would suggest the shure e2c. yes, they are about ten us dollars more than what you mentioned, but the sound quality (not just the bass) is much better than phones that are only ten dollars cheaper.

how much longer does it take to type the extra "e" in have, or "to" instead of 2? half of a milli-second (sp?) perhaps? in the future you're not going to be very fortunate at work if you're too lazy to type the simplest of words that are 2 letters long.
I would suggest the white sony ex51's because I think that's what you're looking for.

aren't the e2c's black? All the ones I've seen are.
ALso, the cheapest I've seen them is $58, and that's almost $20 more than the OP wanted to spend. Just thought I'd point that out.

My iPod stock buds lasted... 5 days! and it started fuzzing. But my iPod messed up and I got a new iPod with new earphones and the new ones are lets say 5 weeks old and working fine!

My stock buds lasted for 2 month, and then 1 ear starts to making weird buzz. Then I immediately upgrade to Sony Mdr-e888lp, and right now Shure e4c.

How moronic.
How can people provide a sensible answer to your question if nobody can UNDERSTAND what you're asking in the first place?
And I, not you, will decide which posts to respond to and/or criticize, thank you. Again - using shorthand on a discussion forum is just plain stupid. It doesn't save anyone any time, it's annoying as hell to read, and it just shows that you're an unintelligent, lazy dullard.
And to get back on topic - yes, the Shure E2c's are black, not white.

For $39, I can think of quite a few headphones that sound much, much better than the Apple In-Ears. From many reports here, aside from having junky sound, the Apple In-Ears fit and feel about as good as they sound - crappy.

i*ve already posted about mine, but i just bought a pair of logic3 earbuds. they are white as well and fit rather comfortably in my ears. the best feature about them is that they are retractable, soi don*t have to worry about the cord tangling. i purchased them for $28Canadian... which is a little more than you are willing to pay, but worth the extra few dollars.

I absolutely hated the stock 'phones. I was actually shocked that Apple would include such sub-par equipment with their exquisite babies. Horrible, tinny sound (far worse than any stock 'phones I've ever had) and a hard, harsh, uncomfortable feeling sitting in your ear. I even got a frigging scab/pimple from the irritation of them in there.
I bought a pair of E4c's about a week ago, and I LOVE them. Incredible sound - a listening experience like no other.

I never even opened my Apple earphones! They went straight on eBay just as I got some MX500's (I actually got more for the Apple's than the Sennheiser's cost me :D).
Koss Sparkplug's go for about £15 on ebay, so at that price they're worth a try (I'm waiting for mine!), and MX500's £15-20 are now available in white (decent for sub £20, but I had trouble with the plug).
Really, you need to be looking at the Sony MDR-EX71's. At any retail store in the UK they'll cost you £35 so they're abit over your budget; but with the help of eBay you can get them imported for $44/£27? and possibly even less if you look elsewhere. Spending anything less than that and you're not going to get any real improvement over the pack-ins.
Then up to the £65 mark there's the E2c which would be best. Again, getting them shipped over from an American seller will save you about £10. I don't think you'd get any great benifit from spending any more than that on 'phones for a portable player.
So what's the outcome? Get the Shure E2C's... or the EX71's, unless you really can't spend anymore than £20 in which case try the MX500's or the Sparkplugs. At those prices, if you don't like them it's no big loss.
PS. Quoted prices for products overseas may be subject to VAT and Imort duties... as a rule it's usually quicker and less hassle to buy from domestic sellers.

If you think the E2C is the endpoint for a portable player, then you've sold yourself way, way short.
You obviously haven't listened to the Shure E3C/E4C/E5C, Etymotic ER-6/ER4, or Ultimate Ears Super.fi Pro/EB. Any of these sound phenomenally better with the iPod than the Shure E2C.

You're right, I haven't tried any of the higher end earphones so I supose my comments aren't completely valid; but while I have no doubt they'd get better performance out of an iPod, I was suggesting that at £130 - £300+ the cost factor far outways the benifit for most people.
Personally I might stretch to the Shure E3C headphones, but I wouldn't even considder spending more than that on a pair of 'phones that I was going to use with anything but the best audio equipment.
