replacement headphones from HP

i've had my HP ipod photo for like 2 months or so and my headphones just crapped out. I know you can get a free set from apple by placing a service order, but since my serial number is an HP number apple won't let me do it. does anyone know if they have this same thing for HP ipods? the only thing i could find was that i could order them for 30.00.... yea right.
