It looks really cool, I'd buy it. Not sure if this is what Motorola and Apple joined to do but if this is it, that would be amazing.

topdog849, the intention wasn't to make an iPod with a built in phone but to make a version of iTunes that can run on a cell phone. Thus the distinction of 'iTunes' as opposed to 'iPhone'.

I like it. I think it's a really good beginning.

Hopefully, by the time my cell phone and iPod start to give out they will have worked out all the bugs and increased the storage on the phone. Then I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone!

Seems like a pretty good idea.

My prediction for the future of Apple: Eventually (in many years), that phone will evolve and will become known as the "iPhone," then later the iPhone and iPod will merge. But please, Apple... don't turn the iPod into an N-Gage...:(

Pretty cool but I wonder if it can compare with the capacity of an ipod in terms of memory.

I dislike the idea. UNless they can figure out how to make it look BETTER, and make it the size of my cell phone. I'm not putting my money anywhere near that brick. Hell you can kill osmoen with that weight. Can that even fit in a cargo pocket?

Maybe they'll have to make iBackpacks so people can carry them without they're pants falling down.

What you just said was ####ing stupid.

2-D, from what you said: 1) You're a fool, or 2) You thought those pictures were actual size.

this is closer to the actual size

Given the size of similar Moto phones, we're probably looking at something (H x W x D) 4 x 1.7 x 0.8 inches, weighing around 3oz. Unfortunately, iPods_like_fire's image is meaningless to anyone who isn't using exactly the same resolution; so if you have a scarily high resolution and are thinking, "My goodness, how am I going to push those buttons?" this should answer your question.

I'm pretty impressed with this phone's looks. Traditionally, Motorola make some of the most reliable, but ugliest cellphones I've seen (please don't be offenced by this, people who use Motorolas and think they're quite attractive), but this looks like an exception. Maybe there's a lot of Apple style influence.

OH!! I'm not a fool, it was just such a big picture with the resolution still not getting grainy tha it looked like it was going to be huge. Now I think it's cool. How is what i said foolish? I thought it was funny, hehe.

Anyway, i wonder, do you think it will be able to play itunes songs through it's speakerphone??

i wonder if you can set one of the songs from iTunes as the ringer

wait, so motorola phone uses the itunes software to play music. am i correct? i haven't looked into what this new itunes phone feature is all about, but its just a software to turn the phone into a more ipod looking interface. because otherwise i don't see how implementing itunes (over a generic mp3 software) would be necessary. motorola is banking solely on itune's name?? cuz i dont' think cellphones can download songs from itunes on the go. anyways, just wanna find out what this is all about.

its not huge, this is like the second version of E398
which is like the best phone that motorola's ever created

only 128 mb, i''ll keep my 20gb iPod, when they have like 5gb in the size of a mini and cell phone then we'll talk

this phone is not an ipod phone, it wasn't created to become an ipod. its just the first phone that uses itunes, so obviously they aren't going to make a cellphone with 20gb hard drive....

jdbartlett

aluren, the advantage of iTunes software over any other MP3 playing software is that iTunes software can play files downloaded from the iTunes Music Store.

Cool but my current phone plays MP3s and I really don't use that option. I still would own an ipod over that.

This is true, but once flash memory prices drop and they become the new standard, you'll start to see all in one devices like an iPod that has the function of a phone. A lot of mobile devices will merge into one device that covers all your mobile needs (and does it well). Just wait and see.

Having the benifit of iTunes Music Store and imporved organisation/syncing capabilities will be great for those that don't want to buy a seperate MP3 player.

Personally I wouldn't buy the phone, because: a) I already have a phone b) I have an MP3 player that uses iTunes.

In summary this is a great product for those that don't have/want a dedicated MP3 player, and a pointless one for iPod owners.

nopthnig special reaqlly, it won't go far, its a normal mobile with some software not an actual ipod with a phone or vice versa. doesn't really impress me much

Im not so sure that I am too thrilled that Motorola is making the phone. From my experience, their phones have crappy reception. Plus I am accustomed to smaller phones. Maybe if it was a flip phone, I would be more enthusiastic.

I would much rather get an iPod than the limited space that the phones are given. The interface may be like an iPod, but we all know the problems we get with phones, right? They lag, the screens sometime freeze, and more problems arise. I could possibly foresee iPod users getting this phone, or people who don't have an iPod, but I don't think it'll catch on as much as the publicity is for the Moto V3 RAZR.

I would still be intrested in it if they make the removealble memory stick accessable to have more addon space and they need to make it a fully layed out keyboard cellphone, so hard to find a nice one and one that makes good phone calls

Do you need a full keyboard if the only extra feature is the itunes, as you could just type like you would for text messages?

I'm not too keen on motorola phones in general, so am a bit sceptical as to whether this we be a success. Would be nice though, especially if it had the extra memory as silverhawk mentioned.

I don't plan on buying one of these, but what would happen if you're listening to music and you get a call? Will there be an incredibly loud rining noise in your ear?

Am i the only person who thinks they should have used the razr design rather than copying the sony ericson?

i kinda thought that its better then the flip design so you don't have to flip it open each time to change songs or something.

Yes because everyone knows how strenuous that can be.
