What Podcasts do you listen to?

I've only got started with this and I'm checking out the geek stations. But they get old quickly. What's good?

Well, I found the iPodlounge Podcast to be really good, and, although it is kind of outdated now, it still proves a good listen.

You can get the link in the 'Podcasting' section of the forum. (Under Books and Spoken Word)

Tech shows are easy to find. It's more general lifestyle orientated Podcasts which seem to be thin on the ground. Any pointers for those?

I also loaded Wizards of Technology today. Who thinks the host sounds like Kermit?

Adam Curry????!?!

That ex VJ from MTV who made some cheesy attempt at being the host of Headbangers Ball?

hmm m I havent heard his podcast but anyway I found out Benjamin Walker's Theory of Everything listed in the iTunes "New and notable" section. Kind of an artistic NPR'ish cool and interesting.

I tried to get Al Franken and it said "This show is unavailable in the US" or some other such nonsense.

What gives?!?!

If you work in IT, IT Conversations is fantastic. This Week In Tech is fairly good as well.

Living on Earth is one of the few NPR programs available for free. Audible.com has the other NPR programs, like Fresh Air, Car Talk, and Marketplace, but you have to pay for them.

As a Southern California resident, I recommend giving some of the KCRW podcasts a listen--if you're into film, Elvis Mitchell's The Treatment is great.

As for indie music, Stylus Magazine has a good daily podcast with different DJs. Highly hit and miss--some are great, some I delete after a few minutes of listening--but after a while you'll find your favorites to look out for.

I echo Benjamen Walker's Theory of Everything. A bit of a Joe Frank ripoff, but still really good.

KCRW Santa Monica is a treasure trove of good podcasts.

KCRW is really where it's at in the world of public radio. I aspire to one day program there... what a place. I just hope someday that all the legal issues around music get ironed out so I can get Chocolate City on my computer...
