How is Apple planning to choose which podcasts to include in the upcoming iTunes?

As a podcaster, I would like to know.

I think a lot of people are wondering, we'll probably have to wait to see.

I actually asked about this in the podcastalley.com forums and its been up in the air as to what you can concretely do to make yourself known until just recently. Check this article out:

I'm still not certain everyone will have the chance to get on. The nature of podcasting is somewhat anti-mainstream and will lead to many casts not being added methinks. I could be wrong though.

There's an Apple Information page on how to submit podcast RSS feeds for consideration according to the iTunes 4.9 article at ipodlounge (http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php/news/comments/apple-releases-itunes-49-featuring-podcast-downloads/) Take a look at the News section. (Note: you may have to have 4.9 installed to read those directions -- when I clicked the link it brought up a notice to install iTunes 4.9)
