I can't hear the songs playing on my iPOD

What should I do? The songs come up on the display screen but I can't hear any sound coming out and I know that my head phones work.

This may sound dumb but did you push the earphones all the way in?

If cannot try a reset if still cannot do a restore.

If both cannot ... try sending in for service

Start up the program that came with the ipod CD and press restore ?
